Examining Innovative Thinking Tendencies According to Various Variables: The Sample of School Administrators

Abstract

This research aimed to examine the innovative thinking tendencies of school administrators. A general screening model was used in the research. According to the analysis result; The level of innovative thinking tendencies was above average. Additionally, according to the perceptions of managers, the perceptions of innovative thinking tendencies differ between men and women. Accordingly, male managers' innovative thinking tendencies were higher than female managers. Again, according to the perceptions of managers, there were differences in the perceptions of innovative thinking tendencies according to age groups. Accordingly, the innovative thinking tendencies of managers aged 41 and over were higher than those of managers aged 31-40. On the other hand, according to the perceptions of managers, it has been revealed that their perceptions of innovative thinking tendencies do not change depending on whether they are married or single. Another result; According to the perceptions of the managers, the perceptions of innovative thinking tendencies differed according to their duty situations. Accordingly, the innovative thinking tendencies of administrators who are school/institution principals are higher than those who are assistant principals. The general dimension of the innovative thinking tendency scale and professional experience were found to be statistically significant, and it was concluded that managers with 16 years or more of professional seniority perceived innovative thinking tendencies higher than the groups with 6-10 years and 11-15 years of experience.
