Withdrawal, Correction and Post-Publication Policy

1. Purpose

The Journal of Management and Educational Sciences (JMEDUSCI) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. This policy describes the procedures for manuscript withdrawal, corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, and other post-publication changes.

JMEDUSCI follows the recommendations and flowcharts of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

2. Manuscript Withdrawal

Authors may request withdrawal of a manuscript before publication by submitting a written request to the Editorial Office.

Withdrawal requests may be considered in cases including:

unintentional errors,
ethical concerns identified by the authors,
accidental duplicate submission,
inability to complete the research appropriately.

Once peer review has begun, withdrawal requests will be evaluated by the Editor.

Withdrawal requests submitted after editorial acceptance will only be considered under exceptional and well-documented circumstances.

3. Corrections

Post-publication corrections may be issued when errors are identified that do not compromise the scientific validity of the article.

Examples include:

typographical errors,
author information,
affiliations,
figure or table numbering,
reference formatting,
production errors.

Corrections will be permanently linked to the original article and may receive their own DOI.

4. Retraction

An article may be retracted when there is clear evidence of:

plagiarism,
data fabrication,
data falsification,
fraudulent authorship,
absence of required ethical approval,
duplicate publication,
copyright infringement,
unreliable findings resulting from misconduct or major error.

Retraction decisions are made by the Editorial Board following COPE recommendations.

Retracted articles will remain accessible to preserve the scholarly record.

The PDF will be digitally watermarked:

RETRACTED

A formal Retraction Notice explaining the reasons will be published and linked to the original article.

5. Expression of Concern

If there is inconclusive evidence of research or publication misconduct but a formal investigation is ongoing, the Editor may publish an Expression of Concern.

After completion of the investigation, the notice may be replaced by:

a correction,
a retraction,
or removal of the concern notice.

6. Removal of Articles

Published articles will only be removed in exceptional circumstances, including:

legal requirements,
court orders,
serious copyright violations,
unlawful disclosure of confidential or personal information.

In such cases, the article will be replaced with a notice explaining the reason for removal.

7. Author Responsibilities

Authors are expected to notify the Editorial Office immediately if they identify significant errors in their published work.

Minor errors may be corrected through a Correction Notice.

Major errors affecting the scientific conclusions may result in retraction.

8. Editorial Responsibility

The Editor may:

initiate investigations,
request explanations from authors,
contact affiliated institutions,
consult ethics committees,
apply COPE guidance where appropriate.

9. Transparency

JMEDUSCI maintains a transparent scholarly record.

All corrections, retractions, and expressions of concern remain permanently linked to the original publication and, where applicable, receive their own DOI.
