Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

JMEDUSCI – Writing Guidelines

1. General Principles

  • Submissions to the journal must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
  • Articles should be prepared in Microsoft Word format (.doc/.docx).
  • The text should be written in A4 size, single column, 1.5 line spacing, and Times New Roman, 12 point.
  • Page numbers should be provided.

2. Title

  • A Turkish and English title should be provided.
  • Titles should be short, clear, and reflect the content of the work.
  • The Turkish title should be in capital letters, while the English title should be in title case.

3. Author Information

  • The author's first name, last name, institutional affiliation, title, ORCID number, and email address should be provided.
  • This information should be included in a footnote or on the first page of the article.

4. Abstract

  • A Turkish and English abstract should be included.
  • It should be between 150–250 words and include the purpose, methods, findings, and conclusions of the study.
  • Keywords: At least 3 and at most 6 words should be provided.

5. Main Text Structure

Articles should consist of the following sections:

  • Introduction
  • Methods/Methodology
  • Findings
  • Discussion
  • Conclusions and Recommendations
  • References

Each section should be titled and should not be numbered.

6. Tables and Figures

  • Tables and figures should be placed in the relevant places within the text.
  • Table and figure titles should be placed above and numbered (Table 1, Table 2, etc.).
  • If a source is used, it should be indicated below the table.

7. Citation and Reference

  • The journal uses the APA 6th Edition citation and reference style.
  • In-text citation examples:
    • Single author: (Yılmaz, 2020)
    • Two authors: (Yılmaz & Demir, 2021)
    • Three or more authors: (Yılmaz et al., 2022)
  • The reference list should include the author's last name, first initial, year, title, place of publication/publisher/DOI.

8. Ethical Principles

  • Ethics Committee Approval and participant consent are required for research.
  • Ethics committee information should be indicated in the “Declarations” section at the end of the article.

9. Declarations Section

Each article must include the following headings:

  • Ethics Approval
  • Participant Consent
  • Conflict of Interest Declaration
  • Funding Information
  • Author Contributions

10. Length

  • Articles should be between 6000–9000 words, including references and appendices.
