Examining the Democratic Attitudes and Behaviors of School Principals According to Some Variables

This research aimed to examine the democratic attitudes and behavior levels of teachers and school principals. The research was designed with a general screening model. As a result of the research; It is seen that democratic attitudes and behaviors are above average. According to the perceptions of the teachers, there was no difference in the democratic attitude and behavior perceptions of the school principal between men and women. The difference between the democratic attitudes and behaviors of the school principal and the arithmetic averages of the age groups was found to be statistically significant. It was concluded that the perception of democratic attitudes and behaviors of the group between the ages of 22-30 was higher than the groups between the ages of 31-40 and 41 and above. Again, according to the teachers' perceptions, the democratic attitudes and behaviors of the school principal differed between married and single people. Accordingly, it was found that single people's perception of democratic attitudes and behavior was higher than married people. In addition, according to teachers' perceptions, general perceptions of democratic attitudes and behaviors differed according to undergraduate and graduate degrees. Accordingly, it was found that the perception of undergraduate graduates in the general dimension of democratic attitudes and behaviors was higher than that of graduate graduates. Finally, the difference between the general dimension of democratic attitudes and behaviors and the arithmetic averages of the professional experience groups was found to be statistically significant. Accordingly, it was concluded that the perception of democratic attitudes and behaviors of the group with 1-5 years of professional experience was higher than the groups with 6-10 years of professional experience and 16 years and more of professional experience.
