Abstract

This research aimed to examine the relationship between the creative leadership characteristics of school administrators and the innovative work behaviors of teachers, according to the teachers' opinions. Relational screening model was used in the research. According to the research results; The level of innovative work behavior and creative leadership of school principals is above average. On the other hand, it has been revealed that school principals' perceptions of creative leadership and innovative work behavior do not differ between men and women. In addition, the difference between the openness to change and innovation sub-dimension of the school principals' creative leadership scale and the arithmetic averages of the age groups was found to be statistically significant. Accordingly, it was concluded that the perception of openness to change and innovation in the group between the ages of 22-30 is higher than the groups aged 41 and over. In the professional experience review; Perceptions of school principals' creative leadership and innovative work behavior do not vary according to differences in professional experience. However, it was revealed that the idea generation and implementation sub-dimension and general perceptions of innovative work behavior of teachers who had previously received innovation training were higher than those who had not received innovation training. Finally, while there was a significant, moderate and positive relationship between the creative leadership of the school principals within the scope of the research and the general dimensions of innovative work behavior, it was found that the school principals' creative leadership perceptions significantly predicted their innovative work behavior perceptions. Accordingly, it was determined that a 100-unit increase in the diversity sub-dimension of creative leadership of school principals increased their perception of innovative work behavior by 36.2%.
