ETHICAL PRINCIPLES AND PUBLICATION POLICY

1. General Principles

Journal of Management and Educational Sciences (JMEDUSCI) adheres to the fundamental principle that scientific research must be conducted, evaluated, and published in accordance with ethical principles.

Our journal publishes in accordance with the principles of:

• scientific integrity,
• academic transparency,
• impartiality,
• accountability,
• research ethics,
• open access,
• and publication ethics.

JMEDUSCI bases its publication processes on the principles and recommendations of the following international organizations:

• Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)
• DOAJ Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing
• International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE)
• World Association of Medical Editors (WAME)
• Council of Science Editors (CSE)

2. Peer Review Policy

All manuscripts submitted to our journal undergo:

• Preliminary editorial review
• Plagiarism check
• Double-Blind Peer Review

processes.

Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers.

In the event of conflicting reviewer opinions, a third reviewer may be assigned.

The editor makes the final decision based on the reviewers’ reports.

3. Publication Ethics

JMEDUSCI strictly prohibits the following ethical violations:

• Plagiarism
• Self-plagiarism
• Data fabrication
• Data falsification
• Duplicate publication
• Salami slicing
• Ghost authorship
• Gift authorship
• Pseudonym authorship
• Copyright infringements
• Failure to disclose conflicts of interest
• Abuse of the peer review process

Manuscripts found to violate ethical standards are excluded from the review process or, if already published, are retracted.

4. Authors’ Responsibilities

Authors must:

• submit original work.
• properly cite all sources.
• not submit the same manuscript to another journal simultaneously.
• obtain the necessary ethical committee approval.
• must obtain informed consent from human participants in research involving them.
• must disclose conflicts of interest.
• must disclose financial support.
• must declare the use of artificial intelligence when necessary.

The scientific and ethical responsibility for the article rests entirely with the authors.

5. Responsibilities of Editors

Editors:

• Act impartially.
• Prioritize scientific quality.
• Avoid conflicts of interest.
• Select reviewers objectively.
• Uphold the principle of confidentiality.
• Apply COPE guidelines regarding ethical violations.
• Make decisions based solely on academic criteria.

Editors;

do not use characteristics such as race,

gender,

nationality,

institution,

religion,

or political views

as evaluation criteria.

6. Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers;

• must conduct an impartial evaluation.
• must maintain confidentiality.
• must complete the evaluation in a timely manner.
• must inform the editor if there is a conflict of interest.
• They must avoid personal criticism.
• They must prepare reports based on scientific justifications.

Reviewers may not share the manuscripts they are evaluating with third parties.

7. Research Involving Humans and Animals

In research conducted on human participants:

• Ethics Committee Approval
• Informed Consent

are mandatory.

Animal experiments must be conducted in accordance with national and international ethical guidelines.

Information regarding the Ethics Committee must be clearly stated at the end of the article.

8. Plagiarism Policy

All submitted works are screened using similarity detection software.

Plagiarism,

self-plagiarism,

quoting without citation,

and data copying

are not accepted.

Manuscripts found to violate ethical standards will be rejected.

9. Conflict of Interest

Authors,

editors

and

reviewers

must disclose to the editorial office any relationships that could constitute a conflict of interest.

10. Data Reliability

Authors are

fully responsible for the accuracy of the research data,

the reliability of the analyses,

and the validity of the reported results.

The editor may request raw data when deemed necessary.

11. Copyright

The copyright of published articles belongs to the authors.

Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.

12. Open Access Policy

JMEDUSCI is a fully open-access journal.

All published articles are freely available to:

• read,
• download,
• share,
• reproduce,
• and reuse with proper attribution.

13. Use of Artificial Intelligence

If authors have used

ChatGPT,

Gemini,

Claude,

Copilot

or similar generative AI tools, they must clearly state this at the end of the article.

AI systems cannot be listed as authors.

14. Corrections and Retractions

Errors identified in published articles are corrected through

• Retraction
• Expression of Concern

are addressed through these procedures.

These processes are conducted in accordance with COPE principles.

15. Publication Fee

Article submission and the peer review process are free of charge.

For articles that successfully complete the peer review process and are accepted, the following publication fees apply prior to publication:

• For authors in Turkey: 5,000 TL
• For authors outside Turkey: 250 USD

a publication service fee is charged.

Payment of the fee does not in any way affect the peer review process or the editorial decision.

16. Confidentiality

Author,

reviewer

and

editor information is kept confidential.

Reviewer reports are not shared with third parties.

17. Complaints and Appeals

Authors may

submit written objections to the editorial office, along with their reasons, regarding

peer reviews,

editorial decisions,

and

publication processes.

Submissions are evaluated in accordance with COPE principles.

18. Policy Updates

JMEDUSCI may update this policy as necessary in line with developments in publishing standards.
