The general aim of this study is to investigate the effect of psychological well-being and family belonging on marital adjustment in married individuals. Since marriage has become a social relationship rather than a personal one, the conflicts and the degree of harmony realized reveal the importance of this research in terms of examining the psychological well-being and feelings of belonging together. The research was designed as a relational survey model. The population of this research consists of married individuals living in Kadıköy, Esenler, Maltepe and Kartal districts of Istanbul. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that psychological well-being did not differ between men and women; as the age level increased, there was a decrease in psychological well-being and marital adjustment levels, while there was an increase in the attitude of family belonging. It was determined that higher education level positively affected family belonging and increased marital adjustment. It was found that as the income level of the participants increased, their psychological well-being scores decreased; there was no difference in family belonging/marital adjustment. As the duration of marriage increased, marital adjustment attitude increased; it was determined that the scores of those who had love marriages were high, psychological well-being was high in arranged marriages, and logic marriage was the best in terms of family belonging. In the suggestions related to these results; parents can be given importance to child rearing trainings, they can cope with their economic situation more effectively by being aware of financial issues, and this can positively affect their psychological well-being. Parents can be guided to establish a more participatory, close and supportive relationship with their children. Through counseling services, families can be provided with information on child development, emotional needs, communication skills and sustainable family relationships. Individual and group counseling and guidance activities in schools can strengthen the intervention strategies of these professionals by reminding them that the satisfaction of psychological needs is an important factor affecting the well-being of individuals.
