Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between teachers' perceptions of school climate and job satisfaction and the effect of school climate on job satisfaction. It also investigates the relationship between them according to different demographic variables. The study group of the research, which was carried out with relational survey model, consists of teachers working in Istanbul province. According to the results of the research; teachers' perceptions of job satisfaction and school climate are above average; school climate and job satisfaction perceptions do not change according to men and women; 20-30 and 31-40 age groups perceive higher job satisfaction than 41-50 age groups. In addition, while the school climate perception of single teachers was higher than married teachers, job satisfaction perceptions did not change according to married and single teachers. In the study, it was found that job satisfaction of postgraduate graduates was higher than undergraduate graduates, while school climate perceptions did not change according to undergraduate and postgraduate graduates. In terms of professional experience, the group between 1-5 years perceived higher school climate and job satisfaction than all other groups. On the other hand, there was no significant difference in the school levels they worked according to their perceptions of school climate and job satisfaction. In addition, there is a significant and positive relationship between the school climate and job satisfaction dimensions of the teachers and the school climate positively affects the job satisfaction of the teachers.
