Investigation of the Effect of Mobbing on Job Satisfaction in Schools

The aim of this study is to examine the mobbing levels perceived by managers and teachers and to investigate the relationship between mobbing and job satisfaction. The study group consists of managers and teachers working in İzmir Gaziemir district with relational survey model. According to the results of the research; it was revealed that managers and teachers experienced low level of mobbing, and the job satisfaction of managers and teachers was at a medium level. It was revealed that the job satisfaction perceptions of administrators and teachers did not vary according to men and women, age, undergraduate and graduate degrees. However, it was found that managers and teachers with 6-10 years of professional experience perceived mobbing higher than managers and teachers with 1-5 years of professional experience. Again, according to the perceptions of administrators and teachers, the mobbing perception of administrators was higher than that of teachers. On the other hand, there was a significant and negative relationship between mobbing and general dimensions of job satisfaction. Finally, mobbing has a negative effect on job satisfaction.
