Examining the Relationship Between Transformational Leadership Characteristics of Administrators and Teachers' Professionalism According to Teachers' Opinions

Abstract

In this research, according to the opinions of the teachers; It was aimed to examine the relationship between the transformational leadership characteristics of managers and the professionalism of teachers. Relational scanning model was used as the research method. 74.6% of the teachers participating in the research were women; It was determined that 80.1% had a bachelor's degree and 28.9% had 6-10 years of professional experience. In addition, it is seen that the arithmetic mean of the professionalism scale is 4.15±0.61 and the arithmetic mean of the transformational leadership scale is 3.61±0.85, which is above the average. As a result of the analysis; According to teachers' perceptions, there was no difference in the perceptions of rotational leadership and professional professionalism. Accordingly, perceptions of rotational leadership and professional professionalism do not differ between men and women. Again, perceptions of professional professionalism do not vary according to professional experience groups. However, there was a statistically significant difference between rotational leadership and professional experience. Accordingly, the transformational leadership perceptions of teachers with 11-15 years, 16-20 years and 21 years and above of professional experience were higher than teachers with 6-10 years of professional experience. On the other hand, according to teachers' perceptions, there was no difference in the perceptions of rotational leadership and professional professionalism. Accordingly, perceptions of transformational leadership and professional professionalism do not change according to undergraduate and graduate degrees. Finally, there is no significant relationship between the transformational leadership and professionalism of the teachers in the study.
